Happy New Year!!🎉🎉
I've always wanted to write about worship playlists and honestly, this seems to be the best time. After 2020 which has been "Whew!", we're definitely going to need a plan for this year.

Like many others, I ventured into 2020 ready to make waves, shake things, and all that until COVID happened. And then I had to lock myself inside where all my goals seemed impossible. One thing that helped me a lot was music, lots of it. I don't know about most people but for me, music is important because it has a huge impact on my mood.
As a Christian, worship music is especially important because it helps to keep God in my mind. This also reminded me that God was still in control even though the news was determined to portray the very opposite.
After all the end-of-the-year enthusiasm, it can be easy to slip into our usual selves (although some people are determined not to, which is good cause most people don't want anything to do with 2020. Y'all the shade is real😅) but just in case, that's what today is about.
I'm deciding to share one tool that I discovered last year. Worship can be a weapon. When it comes to productivity, I'm the person that spends hours on YouTube listening to motivational talks on how to be productive. And even though these talks would have millions of views and all. They only stirred me not actually make me do the work. That's where music comes in. While reflecting on my little progress and strategizing on how to motivate myself, one thing I noticed is how certain types of music seem to uplift my mood no matter which state it was in, while others actually encouraged me to do work. Some of us might be familiar with those types of songs so you probably know what I'm going to say. Harness that energy.
As cliche as that sounds, little things like controlling what affects your mood can greatly affect your productivity. When we listen to most people who talk about their success, they mention the importance of consistency, which means there are some things that we cannot skip. Different folks have different strokes. Some have a list and some just get up and start doing stuff while others (including me) need the motivation to do whatever it is we are trying to achieve. Of course, this motivation can come from anything, from TED Talks to surrounding yourself with high-achievers but for the people who are trying to walk on that narrow path, you don't want worldly motivation to inspire Godly work. We have to remember why we are working and who we are doing the work for (hence, the title of this post)
Consistency is key but motivation is the oil that makes sure your key doesn't wear out. You know some keys, you will put them in the lock and be turning and turning till kingdom come. You could still get that door open but motivation is that lubricant that makes the process so much easier. A key, no matter how new can become worn down over time but motivation is a very good lubricant. It's not necessary but it makes the journey easier.
And after last year, I think we could do with some ease in our pursuits this year.
So my recommendation, whatever you're doing, get some motivation in your tool kit, if you have to, include music in your battle gear in order to reach wherever God is calling you to. However, motivation cannot be the only thing that pushes you to work because on some days, it will seem like everything is working against you. But that's why I like worship music, it is motivational but also a weapon. It can encourage you but it also brings God into that situation, and if I know a good helper anywhere, it's God. End of story.
Now, I'm not a music expert and you all probably have that playlist that gives you goosebumps or energizes but if you are hunting around for new music.
Here are some of my personal favorites that I'd recommend:
The whole "The King Is Coming Album"
Yeshua Hamahiach by Nathaniel Bassey (and some other blessed saints)(This is part of the first album but kai this song😆🤯)
Olorun Agbaye by Nathaniel Bassey ft. Chandler Moore and Oba
I Run To The Father by Chandler Moore and TC Worship Team
Not Today by Hillsong
I Surrender by Hillsong
I raise a Hallelujah by Bethel Music
Tremble cover by Amanda Cook
Free by Lara George
Chibuzo (Get Up) by Lara George
Draw me Close by Michael W. Smith
This is the Air I breathe by Michael W. Smith
Refiner by Maverick City ft. Steffany Gretzinger
Carry Go by Jaymikee
ADARA by Jaymikee
Call on me by Nathaniel Bassey
Resurrection and the Life (one of my favs in another album with the same name as the title)
In Christ Alone + Praise the Lord (A mix) by Kristene DiMarco | Bethel Music Worship
No Longer Slaves by Jonathan David and Melissa Helser
Defender by Steffany Gretzinger (Bethel Music)
Extravagant by Steffany Gretzinger and Amanda Cook
The Train by Jaymikee ft. Lawrence Oyor
Of course, this is not scratching the surface of the iceberg but I tried to keep within the motivational spectrum but - yh right! we can see how that turned out. Every song that has a title of praise or worship should encourage you to focus on God and not the storm. In translation, these songs and the many you like should help you draw motivation from God. His is like a living spring that wells up on the inside not influenced by people but encourages you to walk in his purpose for your being.
Thanks for reading guys. Here's to worship music.
See you next time😊
Kamikun.
