Why 2022 will be different (if you want it to be)

Hola! And a special welcome to you, first timer.

How was your week? Exciting? Stressful? Nerve-wracking? Relaxing?

Mine was quite tumultuous. Thankfully, I made it to today.

We're officially at the end of 2022's week 3 and this is the point where the new year excitement has almost worn off and it's easy to fall back into old habits. This is the point where your motivation alone may not be able to carry you further. However, I hope today's post can help us stay on track.

It can be easy for us to lose track of time. We've all experienced the moment at the end of a day when you ask yourself what you accomplished and draw a blank. It's ok to have those days when you choose to completely relax and be lazy but a lot of blank days lead to blank months and years. This is what I'm weary of. Time. Time is like oxygen. Because it is not a physical concept, it is easy to take for granted. I heard someone once say, "It's the same 24 hours that Mark Zuckerberg had that you have." If you're not a fan of Mark, take Jesus. His 3-year ministry is still affecting people 2000 years later. Many of the disciples and apostles had only one or two decades of work because they were persecuted yet we still read their words today.

If you had 3, 10 or 20 years left on earth, how would you use it? Would owning a car or a house or the latest brand item be that important? What would be your top priority? What would you want to be your legacy? If the last question left you stumped, it might be time for reflection.

Living long is good but living well is better which is why I will be;

a.) working intensely on myself,

b.) making a best of this year with my resources,

c) and finally, inviting you on my journey

A phrase, 'The Jeremiah Generation' has been stuck in my head for a while now and if this resonates with you, you can follow my new set of weekly posts which will be in an open diary sort of format. (I'll still post all my other content on Saturdays) For now, I'll just share a resource I started this year with: The Intentional Living Checklist by Aramide Kayode. This is a great place to start if you're looking to transition into having more control of your time. The first tip, reflection, is one that I've been working on lately. The ability to self-evaluate periodically. Massive! Auditing yourself is like going through a refinery. You identify and keep what's working, remove what isn't, and improve or add where necessary.

Remember that this year. You are Gold. Refine yourself!
