Where to start?
WHO WE ARE
The Evergreen Project is a Nigerian nonprofit organisation created to increase awareness about climate change and global warming, take tangible steps to protect our environment, and sustain these efforts through effectively designed community programs. These goals also form our motto: enlighten, take action and sustain.
WHAT WE DO
We like to keep things simple. Our goals are also our pillars:
Pillar 1: Create awareness about climate change and global warming
Climate change may be a new term to Nigeria, but ignorance does not protect from the consequences. The Evergreen Project, through its different projects, helps communities become resilient by enlightening and empowering them so that they are adequately prepared to adapt and evolve to our changing environment.
Pillar 2: Take tangible steps to protect our environment
When we think of the word "environment, " we may think of roads, rivers, the smoke from those bushes beside your home, or the waste in the sewers. Though these are accurate, the environment also includes us. We are the most critical component of our environment because we are the drivers of change. Environmental protection is human protection. The Evergreen Project helps communities understand and maintain the balance between humans and their external world. This will mean healthier people, longer lives, and better quality of life.
Pillar 3: Sustain positive effort and impact through effectively designed community programs
A famous wise saying goes, "Don't just give a man fish; teach him how to fish." This is what the community development pillar of The Evergreen Project promotes. Our goal is to create sustainable programs and projects that will continue to benefit our communities even years after we have left. We take a step further than just charity and donations; we want to create sustainable change that leaves each community stronger and more resilient than we met it. We currently do this by executing programs in the spheres of health awareness, education sponsorships and skill empowerment workshops.
