Health Awareness Outreach Update/Recap

On the 22nd of July 2021, we held a health awareness campaign consisting of various primary tests and checkups for our surrounding community in Gbagada, Lagos.

Health is something that is taken quite lightly in Nigeria but is one of the leading causes of death overall. Illnesses like chronic heart diseases and malnutrition top the charts when it comes to mortality. However, with the constant hustle and bustle of Lagos, checkups are often pushed aside until severe stages of illnesses. This is why we decided to bring the hospital to the people. From blood pressure tests to BMI checks, a mini vision clinic to nutritional consultations, we were able to conduct primary checkups on members of our community with the help of both volunteers and professionals.

Registration and protocol were handled by volunteers Morayo and Temitope.

Volunteer Shalewa handled our weight and height check station.

Volunteers Oyinkan and Esther handled our preliminary blood pressure station.

Volunteer Murewa handled our pictures and camera roll.

Volunteer Taiwo handled our BMI and secondary blood pressure station.

Volunteers Esther, Kehinde and Bola worked with the adults to provide food and seating services entertaining our guests during their stay or pre-departure.

Volunteer Kamikun managed the diet and lifestyle consultations table.

Dr Taiwo managed our mini - vision clinic.

Dr Madewa Adebajo handled professional medical consultation and patient concern.

That's a wrap family.
